Hon. Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed was elected as a Member of Parliament for Pulai, Johor since 2004 and has been serving as a Member of Parliament for three terms.

He is actively involves in politics, he is the Chairman of Barisan Nasional and Umno Division Chief for Pulai, since 2003. Before that, he was elected as an Exco Member of UMNO Youth National Committee from 1996 to 2004.

With a background as Professional Accountant, Hon. Datuk Nur Jazlan has various corporate experiences since 1990 and was appointed as a member of Board of Directors of Prinsiptek Bhd, Jaycorp Bhd and Telekom Malaysia, all are listed on the Bursa Malaysia.

He was also appointed as Chairman of the Audit Committee of Telekom Malaysia Bhd.

Besides that, he was also appointed to the Board of Directors for Government-Linked Companies (GLCs) such as Penang Port Sdn. Bhd. and Chairman of UDA Holdings Bhd.

In the field of professional accounting, he is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), United Kingdom, a Council Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) from 2001 to 2011, and also a Council Member of the ASEAN Federation of Accountants (AFA) for 10 years from 2001 to 2011.

In September 2014, he won the election of the Council of the International ACCA which made him the first Malaysian politician who won the election.

After serving as Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Malaysian Parliament for two years, since July 2013, Hon. Datuk Nur Jazlan resigned from his position after he sworn in as the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs on 29 July 2015.


  1. well, you have a very strong cv in accounting…but mind you, politic is not about balancing money in and money out, politic is about perception of people towards you. As youself agree, your majority vote had drop like a waterfall in the last election. Seeing the current political scenario, i would suggest that you stick to accounting and hold your political dream in a pause moment… Najib will have a major impact in the next UMNO election and GE14. He will lose, but how about you…. just play along in politics…..by the way….i was really disappointed when you accept the ministriial post offered by Najib….your creadibility had deteriorated…..so ……

  6. Great comment on the shortage (8.1% only..!!) of Bumiputera Accountant (Degree + PAQ + MIA Membership) . This will lead to the shortage of candidates to complement the position of GLC/GLIC Top Gun (CFO & CEO). This is attributed by Bumiputera and Kementerian Pendidikan (MOE) mentalities by focusing on Pure Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) and naïve on Accounting/Economics/Commerce. Its too bad…
